October, the Month of the Rosary, is showing us its beautiful colors through God’s loving work of His hands. We, rosary makers, thought this is the perfect time to update you on our handiwork also.
After taking a summer break from our monthly meetings, we resumed meeting as a group on Wednesdays in September. While many of us worked the Rummage Sale, the completed rosaries continued to stream in. 3000 rosaries were shipped in August, and 2000 rosaries were shipped in September. Our total rosaries made and distributed to date is 396,630!!!
Requests continue to be asked of us for rosaries. Our recent shipments include:
- Baby Jesus School Elementary School, Kampala, Uganda
- Benedictine Monastery of the Resurrection, Ibanda, Uganda
- Nyungwe Girls Catholic Secondary School. Chiradzulu, Malawi
- Don Bosco Provincial House, Talangana, India
- Infant Jesus Catholic High School, Kasoa, Ghana
- St. John’s Mission Malawa, Hwange, Zimbabwe
The following are excerpts from letters received:
“It is a blessing from God to receive a parcel of rosaries from you. These rosaries were received at a critical time when the Christians are desperately in need of them. Many are refugees suffering loss and strife. The rosaries bring hope. I beg of you most kindly to raise us some more rosaries.”
Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Parish, Kawempe, Uganda
“We take this great opportunity to let you know that the poor children of God here were extremely happy to receive your holy gifts. Please, kindly put up whatever rosaries you can to assist us in our missionary work. You understand our problems of begging. You are the only people we know who can assist us with more rosaries. We are grateful and prayerfully thank you.”
Kamengo Orphanage Home, Mpigi, Uganda
“Mama Sharon, we are preparing for Communion and Confirmation of 1200. Your gesture of rosaries is indeed kind. Poverty here prevents us from giving them rosaries. We have nothing to give you but prayers. We hope to receive from you again. We pray that the Lord and his Mother Mary be with you and all your rosary makers.” Nankhall Convent, Mangochi, Malawi
“I have a queue of priests waiting to take your rosaries into the bush. Your rosaries are a real blessing to us out here. Your work is also a big blessing to you and your co-helpers. The next life is forever. While we are still here on this earth, let us try our best to encourage as many souls to pray the rosary as possible to reach heaven. Please don’t get tired!”
